Mr Mather was declared the winner of the by-election in Selby and Ainsty. Here he took on a number of committee roles, including chairing the HS2 Major Planning Committee and becoming deputy chairman of the Uxbridge and South Ruislip Conservative Association. He started his career at Royal Mail before working at two other companies and eventually starting his political life in 2018 as a Hillingdon Borough councillor in 2018. Mr Tuckwell won the by-election in Uxbridge and South Ruislip - a seat previously held by former prime minister Boris Johnson. She previously worked in the agricultural industry and was the portfolio holder for the environment on South Somerset District Council, where she spearheaded rewilding programmes, investment in electric vehicle charging points and the council's zero-carbon targets. She lives in the constituency and is from a Somerset farming family. Ms Dyke emerged victorious in Somerton and Frome, taking the area from the Conservatives for the first time sine 2015.
